What is SORA ACT Training?
S.O.R.A stands for Security Officer Registration Act
The Security Officer Registration Act (N.J.S. 45:19A-1 to 45:19A-12) requires that all security officers employed in the State of New Jersey attend a 24-hour training and education course, led by a State Police certified instructor. Upon successful completion, a certificate of registration, valid for two years, will be issued by the New Jersey State Police. Due to SORA legislation all Security Officers MUST be in compliance by July 1, 2007, The law states, a person who violates the provisions of this act shall be guilty of a fourth degree crime.

When you complete the application process, you will be requested to print two forms
The cost for fingerprinting is $78.00.to get fingerprinted, you must make your appointment online at www.bioapplicant.com/nj
Your 30 day Temporary registration- will have a number assigned to it. Once you receive the form you are allowed to work for a security agency, however if you fail to complete your training within 30days, your application will be denied and your employment will be terminated. You will then have to repeat the process all over again.
