PR-24® Baton Training Programs
An alternative to the straight baton is a PR-24® or Control Device. These are batons you will want to carry, because either defensively or offensively they are more versatile and more effective than any other baton available to law enforcement officers today.
In our training, officers are taught how to stop a punch or kick using a PR-24® baton block. Officers also learn how to effectively restrain (lock-up) a subject using the assistance of a PR-24® baton. Thus, handcuffing a subject's wrists is quick and safe, standing or prone on the ground. Baton strikes are taught too, but not EMPHASIZED as in other baton training programs. We emphasize PR-24® blocking skills and PR-24® assisted restraint holds. The "Protect & Restrain Philosophy" is in all of our programs, including the Monadnock Expandable Baton (MEB) and Monadnock Defensive Tactics System (MDTS) Certification Curriculums. We believe professional police standards and conduct are based on how much officers know and can do rather than on how little they know or can do as some might suggest.
This is why "Protect & Restrain" continues to be our professional bottom line.
Tactical Research
PR-24® baton skills are field proven and have withstood the test of time, for over a quarter century. We have the research to prove it, especially for defense against close- quarter attacks.
Legal Research
Our certification program allows officers to grade their response to a subject's specific behavior. No other program provides as wide a selection of effective responses than ours. Officers can truly escalate and de-escalate force, as well as trauma, in a situation. We stand behind what we say and teach, especially in court.
Medical Research
The Monadnock Baton Chart is easy to teach to officers, easy to remember and easy to explain because it is as simple as Green, Yellow and Red. This combined research by competent legal and medical professionals represents why we continue to be successful and why we are a well respected name in police training.
