 How to Obtain a Lethal Weapons Certification

Application

Applicants applying for the (ACT) 235 Lethal Weapons Training must first submit an application which may be obtained from the Lethal Weapons Training website at www.lethalweapons.state.pa.us or by calling 717-346-4087.
 
Completed application accompanied with a certified check, cashier's check or money order in the amount of $80.25 made payable to "Commonwealth of PA." must then be presented, by the applicant, to any Pennsylvania State Police Station where fingerprints will be taken upon proof of age and identification.
 
The next step in obtaining your Lethal Weapons Certification Letter is the Physical Examination administered by a Pennsylvania licensed physician. The form for this test is also on the website www.lethalweapons.state.pa.us
 
After testing is completed, the physician needs to forward it, within 15 days, to the address found at the bottom of the Physical Examination Form. The last step in acquiring your Lethal Weapons Certification Letter is the Psychological Examination  performed by a Pennsylvania-licensed psychologist, licensed by a State Board of Psychologist Examiners.This form like the others may be found on the website www.lethalweapons.state.pa.us . The psychologist must  also forward the evaluation, within 15 days, to the address found at the bottom of the Psycholocial Examination form.
